Patti Grice Smith

Director, Louisville Fire Foundation

Patti Grice Smith is Director of Program Delivery at Humana, where she leads large-scale healthcare programs focused on bringing care directly into members' homes and supporting some of the most vulnerable populations. This commitment to serving people at critical moments closely aligns with the mission of first responders who answer the call when individuals and families need help most.

Throughout her career, Patti has led transformational healthcare initiatives, managed multimillion-dollar investments, built strategic partnerships, and delivered programs that improve outcomes for both individuals and communities. She is also a graduate of Leadership Louisville's Alice Houston Women's Leadership Program.

Patti's connection to the Louisville Fire Foundation is both personal and deeply meaningful. She is the wife of Sergeant Chris Smith of the Louisville Fire Department and has witnessed firsthand the dedication, courage, and sacrifice required of firefighters and their families. Her appreciation for the profession began after a serious cheerleading injury, when firefighters were among the first responders on the scene. That respect deepened when Chris joined the Louisville Fire Department in 2013 and has continued to grow through years of supporting and advocating for the fire service community.

Following Chris's injury in a fire on September 2, 2026, Patti experienced firsthand the tremendous support and appreciation Louisville's firefighters receive from community and business leaders. The experience reinforced her commitment to helping build partnerships, expand resources, and strengthen connections between the fire service and the community it protects.

Through her executive leadership experience, community involvement, and personal connection to the fire service, Patti brings a unique perspective to the Louisville Fire Foundation. She is passionate about advancing initiatives that support firefighter wellness, safety, family resources, and community engagement while ensuring Louisville's firefighters receive the recognition, support, and opportunities they deserve.
